Abstract
Objective : This study was conducted to investigate the effect of mental health and quality of life on quality of sleep of stroke patients. The data collection period was from August 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022, and 92 questionnaires were used for analysis.

Methods : As a research tool, a structured questionnaire was used to measure general characteristics, quality of sleep, depression, stress, and quality of life. As a result of the study, the subjects had sleep problems on average and showed moderate depression.

Results : As a result of examining the difference in quality of sleep according to general characteristics, the shorter the onset period, the longer the time to participate in rehabilitation training in the case of right paralysis, and the greater the number of patients in the hospital, the lower the quality of sleep. Depression was correlated with subjective quality of sleep in all items except for sleep-related problems, and was found to be a factor affecting quality of sleep. Stress was especially correlated with daytime dysfunction, and in the case of quality of life, physical health was correlated with most quality of sleep, and was found to be a factor directly affecting quality of sleep.

Conclusion : In order to improve the quality of sleep of stroke patients, effective interventions will be needed in rehabilitation treatment to minimize stress factors that can induce negative emotions, increase the level of regular exercise and activities of daily living that can be performed by oneself, and create an environment that does not induce fatigue will be required.
